Customers at a vegetarian restaurant were served human flesh from the body of a man killed by the business' owner, it is claimed.

Diners were shocked when they found minced meat in a dish that was only supposed to contain noodles and vegetables.

They made a complaint to local authorities in Bangkok and that triggered an inspection of the restaurant.

But local authorities, who were expecting to find minced pork or beef, were stunned when they discovered that the diners were served human flesh.

The restaurant's owner is accused of trying to dispose of a man's body by cutting him up, cooking his flesh and serving it to customers.

Police found the chunks of human flesh on the floor and blood spattered on the walls inside the kitchen, AsiaOne reported.
