The Copper Wire
Do you think cheating is ever okay?
What if you felt, a criminal case, depended on it? Would you do it?
A consultant told me I was going to lose a case. I found this device in my hotel, and disconnected it.
(There is a reason why personnel are trained, certified, licensed, and insured. I have some of the reqs, but not all.)
There are some fascinating articles, about "smart" hotels, who "cater to guests comfort". I personally find it, enormously creepy, depending on the implementation.
This wire, wasn't that. I saw their van parked outside when their illegal device was installed, and I knew who they were, as one of their consultants, was using, and came up to me, and told me the name of their shell company, just prior. I will never accept, any person or entity, that breaks the law, or who "cheats".
That consultant, had an internal conflict, which he was masking through substance use. I'm sure he was so gone, that he has no memory, of what he divulged. If he chose to stay with his organization, he could be more firm, and pick projects, that are in alignment with his values. He could also choose health, and refrain from substances. A healthy life is so intoxicating; it feels great.
The man, also seemed pretty convinced, that at least one of my cases, I was going to lose. I never told him a single detail.
How did he know? (rhetorical)
People who are unethical cheat. In criminal cases, people who are guilty, and concerned with being charged, may also cheat. Their actions, provide enormous insight.
I'm glad it's disconnected now. I reported it to law enforcement.
