I met a Canadian Director in 2013. I liked him. His friends, I was concerned about their ethics. They wanted me to do a voice-over, stating I could add it to my resume. They also set-me-up, telling me about an acting interview scenario, that would be occurring. The man from Canada, called me in 2014, and I don't have proof, but he was asking me a lot of questions, which made me very uncomfortable. I stuck to the script I had been given. It was largely outside of my awareness, that people are unscrupulous, and do bad things, since I'd predominantly worked with trusted individuals and companies in the past. Basically, he was committing fraud in recording, and fraud in that he and his friends, had set me up with a script to follow in advance. Very similar to orchestrated research, where the participants/researchers, want to be right, no matter what, and so fail to look at what is real; instead they cheat, and set the stage, so that they end up getting what they want. This is just one form of ethics violations and ultimately it's extremely corrupt.
I got the credit for my CV after that project. They introduced me to some prominent people in Hollywood. But it did not help me with my work, and I felt uncomfortable about the whole thing. They told me it was acting, not research. They lied. Anyone who lies, or is unethical, is on my NO List. Please be honest, and do the right thing, instead.
(It reminded me of high school and college; as I used to participate in orchestrated skits from time to time, then too. We also had a camcorder growing up, like the Kardashian's, and one of the girls, was insistent on writing, directing, and acting. I thought my family had the camcorder for family vacations. The little girl wanted it, for her own "practice". I thought it was annoying, and largely avoided it. But sometimes, she'd rope me into her sketches.)
