I couldn't pronounce "r's" before speech therapy, which is indicative of British English. I remember Blue Jays, and Totem Poles, in our community as a young girl. One man, who is a developer for an agency related to NGO's, in 2014 & 2017, he told me I'd find my answers, in Toronto.
Before I met my Silicon Valley Family, I remember baseball games with my dad, in the country I was born, and other things. The family that made me, loved me, and didn't know about the adoption; which has spurred my interest in crime reporting, which I've done since 1998. I've had a more intentional focus since 2011, and highly specific goals since 2021. It is why I studied medical genetics, therapy, lie detection, and forensic accounting. The truth is always there.
Truth & Lies (by omission, commission, misdirection) are TRANSPARENT. People are also more transparent, I've observed, than most of us will admit, based on our own biases, conditioning, and cultural norms/expectations. I believe, that most people, see the good in others. This is healthy, and pro-social. In contrast, people that have thinking-errors, well, they project. It's interesting to take a step back, and just observe, capturing everything, without bias, even if it's hard to remain neutral. From this place, everything we need to know, is right there.
(There is another layer as well, relating to intuition, or the subconscious mind, where we also know in our heart and gut - i.e. our second brain - what is true.)
The trained expert, knows what details to extract from the whole, and also know what they mean (how to interpret). America is full of niche experts, and also generalists. So usually a team or board gets together to collaborate and determine, what is =). Each of us, though, knows what our truth is, for us, period. The truth is always inside. We also know, what is true about our environment, and the other people in it, to the best of our abilities, and with what we have to work with. (i.e. tired, hungry, grumpy; our cognitive bandwidth, emotional feelers, logic & critical thinking.... If we remove cognitive bias, then I think a lot of us, has greater access, to what the truth actually is. We don't need to be a detective, we can just take a step back, and see.
