I found this research compilation, and I kind of love it. I dislike the name, but am aware, that this is one term, used by those who traffic in children. It was heart breaking when I first heard it used, in Texas. Two years later, I'm still trying to create some space around the name, and what it means. There are schools of thoughts regarding Linguistics, and also Cognitive Behavior Therapy, where you can change the words, and change the frames, and it does help people. This entire dark underbelly exists though, from generations of breeding and their societal belief systems, even if they're generally viewed as sub-cultures or fringe. They exist, in every nation, on earth. It is a profitable industry, with willing participants. It occurs during times of war, and times of peace.
In Lake Tahoe, I was initially in North Shore, which is wealthy, and it was where I wanted to be. I moved to South Shore for under a year before embarking on a tour, and S. Lake has wonderful resorts. It's also "poor", at least from my perspective (that might not be accurate, compared to the rest of the US.) Some parts of S. Lake, seemed seedy, and I remember at one gas station, a man asking me for personal information, that he should not have. I side-stepped, and had the thought, that he's someone in "industry". I didn't consciously know what it meant, since I was going over so many case files, with experts. I was still trying to figure out, who all these people were, and what was their hook. Subculture, religion/belief, industry, profit.
I imagine a world, where every human, is free from this. It seems as though PPL, is working on helping.
PPL: ABOUT US
OUR MISSION:
The mission of Pound Pup Legacy is to promote the safety and well being of children in care. To this end we document cases of malpractice and corruption and offer support to the victims of the "dark side of child placement".
We believe no child should be placed outside its family unless it serves the child's best interest.
We believe children being placed in adoptive families, foster care families and residential care should be kept safe and their well-being should be the highest priority.
We believe children leaving the child placement system should have a future to look forward to.
WHAT WE DO: Pound Pup legacy tries to raise awareness about the many wrong-doings in the child placement system.
We document cases of abuse in child placement, child trafficking, overmedication in foster care and several other issues that compromise the safety and well being of children in care.
We publish information about child placement policies and current events that have an impact on children in care.
We discuss the many aspects of adoption, foster care and residential care and offer support to those who have experienced the "dark side of child placement".
